Privacy policy & terms of use
This website is operated by The Ashley Goodall Company (“we”, “us”). Our registered address is in Montclair, NJ, and you can reach us at info@ashleygoodall.com.
We collect only what you give us and what the site needs to function:
Inquiry details are used to respond to you and, where relevant, are forwarded to Stellant (speaking) or to the publisher’s publicity team (media). Newsletter addresses are used only to send The Second Circle. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
This site uses two kinds of cookies. Essential cookies are required for the site to function and to remember your cookie choices; they are always on. Optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how the site is used; they are set only if you consent. When you first visit, a banner lets you reject all optional cookies (the default), accept them all, or choose for yourself — and you can change your mind at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer or your browser settings. Declining optional cookies does not affect your use of the site. Chocolate chip cookies are for supper and they are delicious.
We work with clients and readers in the United States, Europe, and internationally, and we honor applicable data-protection laws wherever you are. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you; to restrict or object to its processing; to withdraw consent at any time (including for cookies and the newsletter); and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we rely on consent or legitimate interest as the legal basis for processing, this policy describes that use. To exercise any of these rights, email info@ashleygoodall.com and we will respond within 30 days. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect and why (it is described in “What we collect” above), to access and delete it, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — so no “Do Not Sell or Share” opt-out is required. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals: if your browser sends one, optional cookies stay off.
Colorado residents (CPA). You have the rights of access, correction, deletion, and data portability, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling — none of which we engage in. We recognize universal opt-out mechanisms such as GPC. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; we will answer your appeal within 45 days, and you may contact the Colorado Attorney General if you disagree with the outcome.
Inquiry records are retained for 24 months and then deleted. Data is stored with our hosting and email providers under standard contractual protections. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you send us.
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using assistive technologies, and we aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA: semantic headings and landmarks, text alternatives for images, sufficient color contrast, keyboard-operable navigation and forms, and visible focus states. If you encounter a barrier anywhere on the site, please email info@ashleygoodall.com — we will work with you to provide the content you need and to fix the underlying issue.
All content on this site — essays, articles, images, and book excerpts — is copyright The Ashley Goodall Company or its licensors unless otherwise credited. You are welcome to quote briefly with attribution and a link. Republishing an essay in full, or using content to train commercial models, requires written permission.
The material here is for general information. It is not consulting, legal, or professional advice, and no advisory relationship is created by reading it or by submitting a form. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. We may update this page from time to time; the date at the top reflects the most recent change.
